College of Health & Public Affairs Alumni

The UCF College of Health and Public Affairs is committed to helping alumni feel connected to the exciting changes taking place in our college, on our campus and throughout the Central Florida community. We also are committed to helping our alumni and friends play an active role in the growth of the programs within our college. With your support, UCF is achieving its goal of becoming the nation's leading metropolitan university.

With more than 35,000 graduates in the College of Health and Public Affairs alumni network, it's no wonder our alumni are doing remarkable work in the fields of health and public affairs from close to home at the University of Central Florida to the other side of the world. No matter how far you go, you're always part of the College of Health and Public Affairs Alumni Chapter, and we encourage you to get involved and stay connected. As a UCF graduate, you're automatically a part of the chapter and have access to all of its offerings.

Signature Events

Conversations with COHPA
The college is launching a new series designed to provide our students with opportunities to build meaningful relationships with alumni in related fields. These roundtable events will each feature one alumna or alumnus and a small group of deserving students. It will be an opportunity to facilitate mentorships and networking for our students and we invite you to participate. Contact Sarah Drehoff if you are interested in being featured in Conversations with COHPA.

Health Care Symposium
The annual Health Care Symposium is an evening that includes a complimentary networking reception followed by a program that features a moderator and panel comprised of regional health care leaders. Each year, the event draws hundreds of students, faculty, alumni and local health care professionals.

Last Lecture Series
The COHPA Last Lecture Series invites an accomplished professor to answer one question: What message would you share if this were your last opportunity? This annual event features one COHPA faculty member most revered by alumni and is open to the entire UCF community.

Outstanding Alumni Awards Celebration
The college annually recognizes the accomplishments of outstanding alumni from each of the college's academic departments at the Outstanding Alumni Awards Celebration. Guests enjoy hors d'oeuvres, cocktails and the awards presentation, followed by a play presented by the cast and crew of the Orlando Shakespeare Theater.

Social Work Continuing Education Workshop
The Social Work Continuing Education Workshop is a half-day event. This annual workshop offers three contact hours of continuing education and is open to the entire UCF community and members of the public. Event proceeds benefit scholarships that support students in the UCF School of Social Work.

In the Spotlight

From criminal justice to social work, and athletic training to health services administration, our alumni work in a variety of roles to strengthen communities and change lives. Here are just a few examples of the tremendous impact our alumni are making around the globe:

Externship Program

In partnership with UCF Career Services, we invite alumni to participate as an employer host in the UCF Career Services Externship Program. This program provides a brief job shadow experience where students become immersed in the host's daily activities in order to gain a better understanding of their career fields. Hosts include alumni and friends of UCF in diverse career areas and geographic locations. Host employers determine the content and duration of each job shadow experience. Consider serving as a host employer and teach a student what it's like to be a public defender, social worker, consultant, attorney, professor, and more.

Give Now

Twenty-five years ago, UCF created a new college with a unique interdisciplinary focus dedicated to strengthening communities and changing lives. The College of Health and Public Affairs is now the second-largest college at UCF, with 9,500 students and more than 35,000 alumni, providing vitally important health and public services for community members in the region and around the world. With your help, we can continue to offer students an exceptional education that provides opportunities for engagement in research and community service. Make a gift now in support of the college's 25th anniversary.
