To kick off Small Business Saturday, happening on November 26, we’re shining a light on a few small business owners from our official UCF Alumni Business Directory! Meet comedian and alumnus Craig Wilson ’11, owner of 1-2-3 Smoothie.
1-2-3 Smoothie, located in Miramar, offers Caribbean-infused healthy blends with incredible tropical fruits like soursop, pineapple and mango – delicious and nutritious!
What inspired you to start this business?
We were inspired to start 1-2-3 Smoothie because there weren’t many healthy food choice options in our community. We wanted to create something that was healthy, yet delicious and affordable.
What is your mission statement or goal?
1-2-3 Smoothie is a Caribbean-based smoothie where we pride ourselves on the highest quality ingredients, served at a speedy rate and all with a smile.
What is the best part about running your own company?
The best part of running my own business is that I am my own boss! I don’t have to answer to anyone, but myself. It also allows me to try different things. I own another business called Tailored Fitness.
Tailored Fitness is South Florida’s #1 solution for exercise, nutrition coaching and accountability. We make working out fun & engaging.
What was the biggest thing you learned during your time as a Knight that you apply to your life today?
The biggest thing I learned during my time at UCF was the importance of networking and community outreach. That is something that I found to be extremely important and vital during my entrepreneurship journey.
Why did you sign up for the Knights Network Business Directory?
It allows not only alumni to connect, but other businesses to get to know each other as well and possibly work together.
Why is it important to support small business owners?
I think it is important to support small business owners because I truly believe we are the backbone of the community.
Where do you see your business in 5 years?
I see 1-2-3 Smoothie expanding to multiple locations, throughout South Florida.
