3. If hindsight is 20/20, then ESPN is finally getting closer to the mark. Despite ranking UCF football's recruiting class at No. 50 last year, ESPN used metrics from Pro Football Focus to look back after one season of play and ranked the Knights No. 6 for its freshman class performance. That puts UCF higher than Clemson and Florida, among many other programs. Touting the sensational play of quarterback Dillon Gabriel, lineman Tre'Mon Morris-Brash and linebacker Tatum Bethune, ESPN gives the Knights high praise. The article is available for ESPN+ subscribers here.

4. Mike Diaz '06 '10MFA beat the odds, becoming one of six finalists (out of 1,500 applicants) to earn a spot in the eight-month CBS 2019-2020 Writers Mentoring Program. Read more about Diaz and this prestigious program here

5. The innovation at UCF is just getting started.
