Five Things UCF Alumni Need to Know This Week - Feb. 3, 2020

1. Love is in the air at UCF this time of year. We asked UCF alumni to share their #UCFLoveStory, and they did not disappoint. Seventy-plus Knights submitted, and we compiled them here to share with Knight Nation. Take a look — you might find a surprise from a special someone!

2. UCF football's #UCFinSpace uniforms are a huge hit each year, and now the men's basketball team will have the chance to don space-themed threads. The #UCFinSpace game is scheduled for Feb. 9 against Tulsa. And, UCF is giving fans the chance to win the Mandalorian-themed poster above.

3. Join the College of Medicine for its Spring UCFMEDTalk: "Living Your Best Life Through Lifestyle Medicine." This event is set for Thursday, Feb. 20, at the Dr. Phillips Academic Commons building in the downtown campus at 5:30 p.m. Learn more and register here.

4. The Black Student Union was founded in 1969 to support and advocate for black students at Florida Technological University and is still thriving as a student organization today. This UCF Today piece follows the history of the BSU through the eyes of Roland Williams ’71 ’78MS and Wiletha Williams ’70, two early members.

5. A $60,000 grant will help expand UCF's Florida Prison Education Project. Prison education reduces the 54% recidivism rate by 40%, according to the FPEP, and this new funding will allow it to expand with online courses and a scholarship. Learn more with this UCF Today piece.
