Five Things UCF Alumni Need to Know This Week - March 2, 2020

1. Is it football season yet? While fall may still be out of sight, the UCF football team kicked off spring practice last week. Mark your calendars for the annual spring game, set for April 4 at 2:30 p.m. There will also be a full slate of other UCF Athletics activities that day. Check out the full schedule here.

2. You don't have to make your career journey alone. UCF Alumni Professional Engagement is here to help. Follow our blog series for helpful tips — like the latest on optimizing your LinkedIn profile — and visit our page to see the full list of resources available to Knight Nation.

3. UCF was ranked No. 24 among large U.S. schools for producing volunteers for the Peace Corps. There are 39 Knights volunteerings for the Peace Corps around the world now. Read more about the ranking here.

4. If you're located in the Dallas-Fort Worth area or planning on visiting for the American Athletic Conference men's basketball tournament, there's a free party in your future. All alumni and friends are invited to an All-American Alumni Party on March 12 at 4:30 p.m. Find more details and register here.

5. UCF's programming team continues to solidify its place among the nation's best, placing third at the North America Championship of the International Collegiate Programming Contest and earning a spot in the world competition in June. The team, made up of junior Ahmad Barhamje, junior Joshua Fair and senior David Harmeyer, finished higher than teams from Cal Tech, Stanford, Princeton, Yale and Cornell, among others.
