Five Things Alumni Need to Know This Week - August 19, 2019

1. We're baaaack. By this time next week, you'll be able to say things like, "yeah, I'll be at the UCF football game this Thursday." We're all set for an incredible season full of all the tailgates and traditions that us Knights are accustomed to. Check out this fan guide to the 2019 season and we'll see you next week!

2. While we're talking football and tailgates, don't forget to mark your calendars now for the two UCF ChargeOn Tailgates we'll be hosting this season. We're venturing from the Bounce House to  take on the FAU Owls and the Pittsburg Panthers and we need all Knights on deck to cheer with all we've got. Details on dates, pricing, registration and also anything else you may looking for are right here.

3. "I remember my experience of Woodstock like it was yesterday. It was August 1969 and I was 19 years old. That four-day experience opened my mind to a lot of things going on in our country and the fighting in Vietnam. I lost a classmate during that time. He was fighting for our freedom. I’m from Saratoga Springs, New York, and my younger sister, Edie, and best friend, Barbara, were vacationing on Cape Cod, Mass., where we met three boys from Connecticut. They were nice and we had fun hanging out with them on the beach." Read the rest of this Knight's Woodstock experience here.

4. While students are stocking up on their back-to-school supplies, you can get in on the fun too. Only, less binders  and pencils to prepare for classes and more T-shirts and hats to prepare for football games! So, yeah, actual fun. Sorry, students. Make sure your closet is set for the season.

5. With a new school year on the horizon, there's about to be a lot of big things happening at UCF. Students whose financial situation had convinced them they'd never step foot on  a college campus will set foot on this college campus. Research conundrums that have stumped the minds of others will be solved by the minds of UCF researchers. A football program that once struggled to fill seats will start a new season with a sold-out stadium. We're just really grateful for the momentum happening at UCF right now. Thanks for being a part of it all.
