Five Things Alumni Need to Know This Week - August 5, 2019

1. Students will be returning to campus over the next couple weeks and campus will once again be all a tizzy with activities. As always, there are lots of opportunities for alumni to get together at our events designed with you in mind. Check out our events calendar to see what's happening in your area and join us soon!

2. One of the events coming up is Eclectic Knights XI! The UCF College of Arts and Humanities Alumni Chapter invites all UCF alumni to submit artwork for Eclectic Knights XI. This will be the 11th annual show celebrating visual arts at UCF’s College of Arts and Humanities. This night of art will feature works by UCF alumni, faculty, staff, and students on any subject in all varieties of media. All media and subject matter are encouraged. The deadline for entry is Sunday, Aug. 18 at 4 p.m., so submit your work soon and let your talent be on display!

3. OK wait, one more event we want to tell you about. We're getting amped on football season coming up in the next couple weeks and hope you are too! Join us for our 2019 Fan Fest, where Knight Nation will have a chance to meet and mingle with several members of our fall sports teams. Be there.

4. Erica Catron ’19MA went back to school to understand how bereavement affects others. In her last year of studies she persevered through her own losses and cancer diagnosis to complete her degree. Read her story here.

5. In case you didn't notice, you are reading these very words on a brand new UCF Alumni website! We're pretty excited about it and hope it offers you an easy-to-navigate homebase for anything and everything you could need to know about what's doing at your alma mater.
