Five Things Alumni Need to Know: How to Support UCF on #GivingTuesday

UCF Giving Tuesday

This is a season of shopping, of feasting and — most importantly — of giving.

The Tuesday after Thanksgiving is #GivingTuesday, a global display of generosity and a call to do good. The best way to get involved is to give your time, resources and attention within your community — and there are so many ways to make a direct impact and help your fellow Knights at UCF.

Here are five things Knights should know about supporting UCF on #GivingTuesday:

1. You can target your donation. UCF’s online donation page makes it easy to search and identify which fund you would like to support. Whether you want your gift to benefit sea turtle research, homeless students, first-generation scholarships or the Football Excellence Fund, you know that your gift will be put in the right hands. Or, if you’re not sure how to help, you can select the area of greatest need, guaranteeing your resources will go toward a timely cause.

2. Any amount is welcome. You don’t need to establish an endowment or fund a building project to make a difference. Every donation matters, whether it’s $5, $50 or $5,000. The important part is that you’re taking an active step toward creating opportunities and changing lives at UCF.

3. You can see your giving in action. #GivingTuesday is just the beginning. Take the next step and become actively involved at UCF. Become a season-ticket holder for your favorite teams, join your local alumni group or mentor a student in your area of expertise. And, be sure to read UCF Today and our Alumni Blog to see the big things Knights are doing around the globe and your resources in action.

4. The process is easy. It takes just a few minutes to give online, and with UCF’s intuitive giving page you can easily select your fund, make a gift anonymously, set up a recurring gift and more. Or, you can make donations over the phone or by mail. #GivingTuesday is a great occasion to support your fellow Knights, but it’s easy to pitch in any day.

5. You’re making a direct impact. When you make a philanthropic gift to UCF, you’re taking direct action to support your fellow Knights. Education is the key to so many opportunities, and private funding is crucial to make these opportunities available to as many people as possible. Not to mention the research being conducted by your fellow Knights can change lives — and the world. Read more about why you should support UCF here.
