Heather and Stephen Chumbris
Stephen and I met in 2005 through a mutual friend, who was one of his fraternity brothers, and a lifelong friend of mine. Our friend set us up on a date for their fraternity’s semiformal on a chilly November night, and we developed an instant connection. Within a couple of weeks after our first date, we were officially a couple and have been together ever since. When we met, I was a freshman and he was a senior, so our time as active students together at UCF was limited. Stephen moved home to St. Petersburg to attend Stetson Law, but that didn’t stop him from driving back to UCF every weekend to visit me. After graduating in 2009, I hadn’t had my fill of the Knight life just yet, so I stayed for 2 more years to earn my Master’s degree in Communication. Stephen kept racking on the miles to be close to his favorite Knight. In 2012, I finally parted with my beloved Orlando and moved to St. Petersburg, where we live with our two dachshunds: Brighton and Chloe. We’ve been happily married for six years and together for almost 15! As alumni, we look forward to watching Knights football together every season and even took a road trip to the Peach Bowl in 2018. Our love story so far is full of UCF memories and we can’t wait to make more. Charge On!
