Jamie Kaplan and Alex Nelinson

Alex and I were both very involved at UCF and we met in the UCF Arena as we were both planning the Homecoming concert. I was in Homecoming Exec and Alex was on CAB. What’s even crazier is we were both out-of-state students and bonded that special day in November 2009 realizing that we both went to the same high school, just outside of Philadelphia. That was the first moment that Alex felt like home to me. We hosted Luke Bryan, Asher Roth and T-Pain that night for an incredible concert! Fast forward after graduation: I had just moved back to Pennsylvania (after living in Washington D.C. for five-plus years) and Alex moved back to Pennsylvania too! We went to the dinner and the movies as “friends from UCF” and the rest is history. We rescued a beautiful dog named Carson (named after Carson Wentz on the Philadelphia Eagles) and live in a warm and loving home in the the suburbs of Philadelphia, the city where we both grew up. Alex proposed in January 2019 and we are getting married this year! April 2020 can’t come soon enough. And yes, of course we are having UCF moments throughout the wedding. GO KNIGHTS!
