Hong Kong gets Happyer
Here is the story of alumnus Thomas Huang ’17:
“While people are getting laid off, looking for jobs and facing anxiety/depression with all the uncertainty — especially fresh grads about to enter the over supplied workforce — we have decided to help improve the community in Hong Kong. We just launched our next-gen modern recruitment platform targeting millennials and Gen-Z (using lots of rich media), www.happyer.io. We are also taking this down time to create free resources including blog articles, podcasts (Happyer Work, Happyer Life now live on Spotify, where we interview founders, CEOs, hiring directors and employees to share tips and advice). We also host lots of webinars, such as A-Z of applying for jobs for students during Covid-19. We’re having another one on personal branding, all free for everyone. We just want to release positive, inspiring and valuable info during these tough times.
We already have 170 companies including WeWork, foodpanda, Deliveroo, and many other startups, small to mid-size enterprises, and corporations with hundreds of job openings on our platform. We’re also waiving payments for many of the startups for the next few months because of Covid-19.“
While we are inspired by these generous acts of kindness shared with us, we hope it inspires you make a positive change in the lives of others. You can show your generosity in a variety of ways during #GivingTuesdayNow, whether it’s helping a neighbor, advocating for an issue, sharing a skill or giving to causes. Every act of compassions counts.
