At the University of Central Florida, our relationship with our alumni, parents, donors and friends is important to us. Collecting and maintaining personal information about you allows us to better communicate with you and engage you with the university in meaningful ways. Our privacy policy provides complete details so you know your information is safe.

PRIVACY

Your privacy is a top priority to UCF. UCF Alumni does not share, sell or trade alumni mailing lists (including alumni email addresses) with outside corporations or organizations, except for those that have business or contractual relationships with UCF Alumni (e.g., Meyer and Associates, which provides the UCF insurance program). Any third parties who receive alumni information are prohibited from using or sharing alumni information for any purpose other than offering or providing approved services to alumni.

UCF Alumni takes reasonable precautions to assure overall system security by monitoring security issues and industry trends, to protect the privacy of our alumni and secure the personal information available through our website. All areas of the website that contain private information are housed on a secure server using Secure Socket Layer (SSL) 128-bit encryption.

Although these precautions should help to protect any personal information available through the website from abuse or outside interference, a certain degree of privacy risk is faced any time information is shared over the Internet.

ONLINE CONTESTS

Your privacy is a top priority to UCF Alumni. This privacy policy explains how we protect your personal information when you enter a contest offered by UCF Alumni and how we use that information. We may update or modify this policy from time to time. Changes take effect immediately upon posting. You are responsible for reviewing this policy each time you enter a contest offered by UCF Alumni.

To register for specific contests or participate in certain online programs, surveys or other activities, you may be required to submit personal information, such as your name, date of birth, gender, email address, telephone number, and/or other contact and demographic information related to the particular contest or activity. UCF Alumni will not share, sell or trade personal information about its alumni or other participants in contests or other online activities with outside corporations or organizations.

UCF Alumni takes reasonable precautions to assure overall system security by monitoring security issues and industry trends, to protect the privacy of users who enter UCF Alumni online contests or participate in our online activities. Still, you should be aware that any information transmitted via the internet cannot be completely protected against unauthorized interception.

EMAIL

UCF Alumni will send periodic news and information to member subscribers through email. This includes newsletters and invitations to UCF Alumni events. At any time, alumni may update their email preferences or unsubscribe in the email preferences section of communications.

On our web pages, we may provide links to other servers which may contain information of interest to our readers. We take no responsibility for, and exercise no control over, the organizations, views, or accuracy of the information contained on other servers. Creating a text link from your website to our site does not require permission. If you have a link you’d like us to consider adding to our website, please send an email to admin@ucfalumni.com with the subject “Link request.”

 
USE OF TEXT AND IMAGES

KIDS AND PRIVACY

For children who visit our site, special rules apply. We do not request personal information about children, such as first and last name or street address and city. When kids send email to us, their online contact information (email address) is not used to re-contact them and is not maintained in retrievable form.
