Meet Michelle Hood-Julien ’03!
Tell us a little about yourself!
My name is Michelle Hood-Julien. I am a Grenadian-American. I have a BA in Psychology from UCF.
I graduated in 2003. I went back to school in 2014 and studied Occupational Therapy Assistant. I am a knight for life. Go KNIGHTS!!!!
When did you first realize you wanted to be a writer?
I decided to write my children’s book because I wanted my Caribbean culture to be represented.
What’s your writing process? What inspires your writing?
Whenever something comes to my mind, I just write it down. No special formula. I am inspired by my culture.
Who are some of your favorite authors?
I love indie authors. I loved my authors from the Caribbean.
What else?! What are you currently working on right now?
I just finished my second picture book, Island Eats.
My Books:
‘In Grenada, what do you see’?, a picture book about a grandfather taking his grandchildren on a tour of Grenada.
‘Island Eats, ’Grenada foodie Tour (co authored with Rosana John-Mitchell), a picture book about a Grenadian food tour which was inspired by Grenada spice foodie tour.
