On the first day of medical school, UCF College of Medicine students participate in the White Coat Ceremony and are asked to write a note about their hopes, aspirations and dreams for the future. For the past 17 classes of medical students, Dr. German has carefully preserved these notes in her office, safeguarding the dreams of future physicians as they embark on their medical education.
As we celebrate Dr. German’s retirement, we are creating a collection of letters and messages that reflects the profound impact of her leadership, mentorship and vision. We invite you to share your appreciation, favorite memories or words of encouragement as she begins this next chapter.
For College of Medicine alumni, this is also an opportunity to reflect on a unique and meaningful connection. Dr. German has been described as having “held your dreams in her hands.” We encourage alumni to share what those dreams have grown into, where their journeys have led them and how their experiences at the UCF College of Medicine helped shape their lives and careers.
Together, these messages will serve as a lasting tribute to Dr. German’s impactful legacy and the generations of students, physicians and healthcare leaders she helped inspire.
