Alyssa Tapia and Cody Eubanks

Cody and I met my very first week of college in the summer of 2013. He had already been there a year. We met at Lake Claire during Cru’s welcome week. There was paddleboarding, barbecue, beach volleyball and more. Cody showed up with his two roommates, and they joined my side of the court. For some reason he was the only name I could not remember! It was a beautiful sunny day until all of a sudden it started pouring rain. Everyone ran in all directions leaving Lake Claire deserted. Two days later I was in a Zumba class (so I thought) until the instructor announced she was substituting for the instructor who was sick. She was a hip-hop instructor which was very different than Zumba. Halfway through the class I left and went to the volleyball courts right outside the door. I dropped my backpack and joined the group. It was then I saw Cody through the net and said, “Hey, didn’t I just meet you a couple days ago at Lake Claire?” We just got engaged at the same volleyball courts we exchanged names at Lake Claire on Jan. 1. Then we went to Light Up UCF and rode the Ferris wheel. The rest is history from there! We are hoping to get married in January 2021. We will forever be a Knight family. Five years later we still consider ourselves blessed to be Knights and to have found each other.
