UCF Alumni Engagement and Annual Giving Scholarships.
Scholarship applications for the 2024-2025 Academic Year are now open.​

Paper applications will NOT be accepted. Scholarship applications are only available online through the A2O: Access to Opportunities portal. You will only see scholarships for which you meet the basic eligibility requirements. Criteria used to determine eligibility includes, but is not limited to: GPA, class standing, academic program and campus involvement. If you do not see a particular scholarship, you do not meet one or more of the basic eligibility requirements (refer to FAQ for more information).

Charles N. & Frances Millican Scholarship

The purpose of this Scholarship is to provide award(s) to UCF student(s) with senior class standing in fall. This scholarship was established by the FTU 25-year reunion class of 1973.

SELECTION CRITERIA:

  1. Have a minimum overall 3.5 GPA
  2. Have senior class standing (90+ credit hours) in fall
  3. Demonstrate outstanding service to the university through leadership positions in Student Government, honor organizations, campus organizations and offices, etc.
  4. Demonstrate outstanding service to the community through leadership roles in impactful volunteer service projects
  5. Exemplify leadership skills within exceptional work experiences

REQUIRED SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS:

  • Recommendation Letter – From a person other than a relative (i.e. Professor, supervisor, etc.)

Jack & Monica Thorsen Veteran Scholarship

The purpose of this Scholarship is to provide award(s) to UCF student(s) of any class standing who has served in the U.S. military.

SELECTION CRITERIA:

  1. Must be enrolled at the university as a full-time undergraduate or graduate student in fall
  2. Must be a U.S. military veteran
  3. Must demonstrate financial need based on upon guidelines set forth in the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

REQUIRED SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS:

Phoenix Scholarship

The purpose of this Scholarship is to provide award(s) to non-traditional UCF student(s) of junior class standing who is conquering personal or family challenges.

SELECTION CRITERIA:

  1. Have a minimum overall 3.0 GPA
  2. Must be enrolled as an undergraduate student at UCF with junior class standing (60-89 credit hours) in fall
  3. Demonstrate financial need as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
  4. Be a non-traditional student who is conquering personal or family challenges (e.g., single parent, student serving as head of household with children, student returning to college later in life after overcoming personal adversities, students dealing with unusual circumstances that prevented him/her from pursuing his/her degree at an earlier time in life, etc.).
  5. Preferential consideration will be given to applicants who attended Apopka Learning Center in Apopka, FL

REQUIRED SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS:

St. Onge Family Leadership Endowed Scholarship

The purpose of this Scholarship is to provide award(s) to UCF student(s) of sophomore or junior class standing in fall.

SELECTION CRITERIA:

  1. Have a minimum overall 3.0 GPA
  2. Have sophomore or junior class standing (30-89 credit hours) in fall
  3. Demonstrate outstanding service to the University by holding a leadership position in student government, honors organizations, campus organizations, campus offices, etc.

REQUIRED SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS:

UCF Alumni Fellows Leadership Scholarship

The purpose of this scholarship is to award(s) UCF undergraduate or graduate student of any class standing who are enrolled at UCF for the fall. Alumni Fellows Scholarships will be awarded as follows:

  • One Alumni Fellows Freshman – Freshman class standing has (0-29 undergraduate credit hours)
  • One Alumni Fellows Sophomore – Sophomore class standing has (30-59 undergraduate credit hours)
  • One Alumni Fellows Junior – Junior class standing has (60-89 undergraduate credit hours)
  • One Alumni Fellows Senior – Senior class standing has (90+ undergraduate credit hours)
  • Two Alumni Fellows Graduate – Graduate Student is any student who already has an undergraduate degree and is enrolled in a masters or doctoral program

 

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

  1. Must have a minimum overall 3.5 GPA
  2. Must demonstrate well-rounded leadership and involvement at UCF, outstanding service to the local community or exceptional work experience over the last year
  3. Must be an undergraduate or graduate student enrolled at UCF for the fall semester.

UCF Alumni Legacy Scholarship

The purpose of this scholarship is to award(s) UCF undergraduate student(s) of any class standing enrolled at UCF for the fall semester. This special award is given to a student whose parent, grandparent or legal guardian is a UCF graduate. Please provide legacy information (name, date of birth and grad year of parent/grandparent/legal guardian) in your Activities Summary (link below).

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

  1. Must have a minimum overall 3.5 GPA
  2. Have a parent, grandparent, or legal guardian who is a UCF graduate
  3. Demonstrate well-rounded leadership and involvement at UCF, outstanding service to the local community or exceptional work experience over the last year
  4. Must be an undergraduate student enrolled at UCF for the fall semester.

REQUIRED SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS:

  • Recommendation Letter – From a person other than a relative (i.e. Professor, supervisor, etc.)

Amy G. Buchman '95, Memorial Endowed Scholarship

One award to a UCF student of any class standing from the Tampa Bay area.

SELECTION CRITERIA:

  1. Have a minimum overall 3.5 GPA
  2. Be a permanent resident of Pinellas or Hillsborough counties.
  3. Must be active in extracurricular activities (i.e. community service, athletics, etc.)

REQUIRED SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS:

College of Business Administration Alumni Chapter Scholarship

The purpose of this scholarship is to award up to five awards to a UCF student enrolled as full-time junior, senior or graduate student enrolled in the College of Business Administration in fall.

SELECTION CRITERIA:

  1. Have a minimum overall 3.0 GPA
  2. Be junior, senior or graduate student enrolled full-time in the College of Business Administration
  3. Demonstrate involvement in leadership, community service and/or extracurricular campus activities
  4. Be willing to serve a one-year term on the CBA Executive committee after graduation (if remaining local)

*Preference will be given to children of alumni, 4EVER KNIGHTS members and those showing active involvement in College of Business Administration clubs, organizations or activities.

REQUIRED SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS:

Debbie K. Phillis Space Coast UCF Alumni Chapter Endowed Scholarship

The purpose of this scholarship is to award up to two UCF student(s) enrolled as a full-time undergraduate or graduate student who is a permanent resident of Brevard County.

SELECTION CRITERIA:

  1. Must have a minimum overall 3.0 GPA
  2. Be enrolled at UCF as a full-time undergraduate or graduate student in fall
  3. Be a permanent resident of Brevard County
  4. Demonstrate involvement in community service.

REQUIRED SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS:

  • Two Recommendation Letters – (One should be from an organization with which you have volunteered, or that has some connection to your volunteerism.)

Lee A. Dumas Memorial Endowed Scholarship

The purpose of this scholarship is to award(s) UCF student(s) of any class standing who is a permanent resident of Volusia or Flagler counties.

SELECTION CRITERIA:

  1. Have a minimum overall 3.0 GPA
  2. Demonstrate involvement in extracurricular activities
  3. Be a permanent resident of Volusia or Flagler counties.

REQUIRED SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS:

Branen Band Endowed Scholarship – OPEN in fall

The purpose of this scholarship is to award UCF student(s) who is currently a 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th or 6th year Marching Knights member and who is currently enrolled in MUN3113 in fall.

SELECTION CRITERIA:

  1. Be a member of Marching Knights with two years of participation and be at least as sophomore (2nd year) who has participated in the program during their freshman year and fall semester of their sophomore year
  2. Be enrolled as a full-time undergraduate or graduate student at UCF
  3. Be enrolled in classes at UCF for the spring semester
  4. Be currently enrolled in MUN3113 for fall.

REQUIRED SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS:

  • Activities Summary  –  Please complete the activities summary prior to submitting online application. Save as (yourname_activities.doc or .pdf) and upload when prompted.
UCF Regional Chapter/Club Scholarships – Expand to see specific regional scholarships.

Various awards offered by UCF Alumni Regional Chapters/Clubs to students who are enrolled at UCF as a full-time undergraduate or graduated student(s) (any class standing) for the fall semester. Preference will be given to those applicants who are permanent residents of specific areas listed. Please provide hometown/regional information in your Activities Summary (link below).

  • Jacksonville UCF Alumni Club Scholarship – One award (up to $500). Preference given to a UCF student who is a permanent resident of Duval, Clay, St. Johns or Nassau counties in Florida.
  • Southeast Florida Knight Scholarship – One award (up to $750). Preference given to a UCF student who is a permanent resident of Dade or Broward counties in Florida and an incoming freshman.
  • Tampa Bay Knights Legacy Scholarship – One award (up to $500). Preference given to a UCF student who is a permanent resident of the Tampa Bay Area and is a UCF legacy whose parent/grandparent/legal guardian is a graduate of UCF.
  • Chicago UCF Alumni Chapter Scholarship – One award (up to $1,000). Preference given to a UCF student from the state of Illinois.

  2. Demonstrate well-rounded leadership and involvement at UCF, outstanding service to the local community or exceptional work experience over the last year

Frequently Asked Questions

How can I apply for a UCF Alumni scholarship?

Scholarship applications are only available through A2O:  Access to Opportunities. Paper applications will not be accepted.

Why can't I see all scholarships in A2O?
You will only see scholarships for which you meet the basic eligibility requirements.
Are part-time students eligible to apply?
Yes, for those scholarships that do not specify full-time.
What are the GPA requirements for scholarships?
Each scholarship may require a different GPA. Please refer to the scholarship details in A2O for specifics.
How is class standing determined?
Class standing is calculated by the number of credit hours: freshman (0-29), sophomore (30-59), junior (60-89), senior (90+). Graduate students are those that already have an undergraduate degree.
I don't have my recommendation letter(s) yet. Can I still apply?
You can begin your application and save it until you’re ready to submit. Incomplete applications will not be considered, so make sure to upload the recommendation letter(s) before submitting.
Do I have to complete the Activities Summary to apply?

Yes. You must complete the activities summary document and upload it when prompted when completing the online form. The activities summary document can be found here.

Will you accept applications after midnight on the cut-off date?
No, all scholarship applications must be submitted by midnight on the due date.
When will scholarship recipients be notified?
All scholarship recipients will receive notice in the fall.
When will scholarships be awarded?

Scholarships are awarded for the fall and spring semesters only. Awards are typically disbursed in September and February.

 

Disbursement of awards is contingent upon enrollment and GPA verification following Add/Drop each semester.

Can I apply for more than one scholarship?
Yes. You may apply for as many scholarships as you are eligible for.
Are incoming freshmen eligible to apply?
Yes, applicants must be accepted to UCF.
Are UCF employees or family members eligible to apply?
Yes.
As an incoming freshman, I don't have a UCF GPA yet. What should I submit for GPA?
You can use your high school GPA.
Who can write my recommendation letter(s)?
Recommendation letter(s) can be written by faculty members, advisors, employers, etc. Letter(s) written by family members will not be considered.
How do I submit recommendation letter(s)?
You must submit the recommendation letter(s) via A2O. You will be prompted to upload the file while submitting your application online. Recommendation letter(s) submitted via email or mail will not be considered.
Can I edit my application once it is submitted?
No, once you have submitted the application is final.
Who selects the scholarship recipients?
A committee made up of faculty and staff selects the scholarship recipients.
I'm taking summer classes. Can I receive my scholarship early?
No.
