UCF Knight Authors: Recently Added

Have you published a book? Let us know.

Many of our Knight authors have produced significant works across all literary genres.

The Knight Authors list is curated at the discretion of UCF Alumni, and to be considered, books must be complete and published, and you must be able to provide a link to where the published book is available for sale to the public.

Frequently Asked Questions

How often will books be read? What is the commitment and what are the expectations?

The book club will read one book every two months. If you have a little time every week to read, you should be fine. After one month, we will start sharing one discussion question a week on the Facebook page for members to participate. There are no strict expectations on members for this virtual community; if you can’t read one of the books then it’s OK. If you can only read part of a book and contribute a little to the online discussion then that’s OK too.

Will there be any in-person meetings?

The book club will be online so people can participate anywhere in the world. We will be offering optional virtual meetups near the end of the two-month period that will be held at 7PM EST, on various days of the week. If there is not enough interest, we will not host a virtual meetup that month.

Is there any cost to participate?

No. Participation is completely free for UCF alumni! You are responsible for getting a copy of the book to read or listen to, but your local library should have most books for free.

How do I get the books?

Members can purchase the book or borrow the book from local libraries.

How do discussion questions work in the Facebook group?

The book club will have a moderator who manages the Facebook group where discussions occur online. The moderator will pose questions to the group, share relevant articles and encourage conversation about topics in the book. Members will be able to post and share as well. This format allows for ongoing conversation and makes it easy for alumni to connect with each other through Facebook.

What if I don't have a Facebook profile?

Don’t have a Facebook profile? You can make one for free at facebook.com. Just sign up and follow the easy instructions to make your profile. If you don’t want to create a Facebook profile, dates for future book club virtual meetups will be posted on the UCF Alumni Events Calendar.
